Why this journey

Beach mornings. Lantern evenings. No rushing.

Central Vietnam packs an unusual amount into a small map: a long sandy city beach, a golden bridge held above the clouds, marble mountains full of shrines, and half an hour away, a 400-year-old trading port where the evenings glow with silk lanterns.

This week alternates on purpose: a guided day, then a free one. You'll see the icons with a private guide and still have real holiday time as well: beach, cafés, tailors, pool.

It's the easiest route in Vietnam for short-haul travelers. Da Nang has direct flights from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Manila, and airport-to-hotel is about twenty minutes.

👶With young kids? Basket boats, beach time and the lantern release are the favorites. We'll pace Ba Na Hills gently or skip it for pool time.

The route

Two stops, thirty easy minutes apart.

Nights 1–4 · beach base

Da Nang

My Khe beach, Marble Mountains, the Golden Bridge, and Vietnam's most liveable city energy.

Nights 5–6 · old town

Hoi An

Lantern-lit heritage streets, riverside evenings, tailors and craft, the slow finale.

Every transfer on this journey is private. Prefer to sleep in Hoi An the whole week instead? Easy. The same days work from either base.

Day by day

A week on the central coast.

1

Your driver meets you at the airport with a name board. Twenty minutes later, you're checking in. Ease into the city your own way: a first walk on My Khe beach, photos at the Dragon Bridge, then seafood or the night market for dinner.

👶Landing late? We'll arrange early check-in so the kids go straight to bed.

2

A full private day through the city's landmarks: the stone-carving village at the foot of the Marble Mountains, then the mountains themselves, caves, shrines and pagodas hidden in the rock. Browse Han or Con market and eat lunch where the vendors do.

In the afternoon, ride up the Son Tra peninsula to Linh Ung Pagoda and its 67-metre Lady Buddha, the best sea view in the city, with a café stop at the Santorini-style marina before heading back around 15:00.

👶The Marble Mountains involve steps, but there's a lift for most of the climb, and we shorten the cave loop for small legs.

3

Up the mountain by cable car to the bridge you've seen everywhere, held aloft by two giant stone hands, often floating above the cloud line. Wander the nine gardens of Le Jardin D'Amour, the French Village's squares and cathedral, and catch the carnival show.

Lunch is a buffet on the mountain; the afternoon is for the French Square and Fantasy Park's indoor rides (game tickets at your own choice) before riding the cable car down around 15:30.

👶A full but flexible day. Kids love Fantasy Park, grandparents love the gardens. It's cooler up top, so bring a light layer.
+ Skip Ba Na for a pool & beach day instead

No plan, on purpose. Swim, nap, wander the cafés and bakeries of the city centre, or just stay by the water. Early risers can paddle a SUP off Man Thai beach and watch the sun come up over the sea.

A slow morning in Da Nang, then at 14:00 your guide collects you for Cam Thanh's coconut waterways, spinning bamboo basket boats and old fishing tricks that kids find hilarious.

From there, into Hoi An itself: the Fujian Assembly Hall's dragon gates, 200-year-old merchant houses, the Japanese Covered Bridge, and craft galleries down the smaller lanes. After a dinner of Hoi An specialties, board a rowing boat on the Hoai River and release a flower lantern into the current, then let the night market glow around you.

👶The lantern release is the single most-remembered moment for families on this route.

Hoi An rewards wandering. Get measured at a tailor in the morning (fittings usually take a day, that's why this day sits here), find a rooftop café over the tiled roofs, and rest through the hot hours.

In the evening, consider the Hoi An Memories show, 500 performers telling the port's story on an open-air stage, with Impression Park open from 17:00 beforehand.

Depending on your flight, there's time to collect your tailoring, buy one last lantern, or take a final old-town walk before your private transfer to Da Nang airport. Not ready to leave? Hue's imperial citadel is a day away, and the north is a short flight.
